Just
over a mile from Puerto
del Carmen, Matagorda and its sister resort
of Los
Pocillos are a complete contrast to the hustle
and bustle of the main resort.
In
this former fishing village, you'll find quiet bars
perfect for relaxing in, or a traditional restauarnt
serving the local 'catch of the day'.
However,
if you want the best of both worlds, Matagorda in Lanzarote
is linked by a long promenade walkway so you can dip
in and out whenever you choose.
With
a gently sloping beach of fine, dark sand, particularly
popular for windsurfing, this small resort is understandably
popular with watersports enthusiasts who visit here
all year round to play in the warm clear waters.
Most
of the restaurants in Matagorda are situated in the
centre and visitors to this lovely resort have a great
choice of a wide variety of cuisine.
Once
you've finished your meal, spend a couple of hours in
one of the many small bars dotted around the resort.
