Costa Teguise Lanzarote
COSTA TEGUISE

Situated on the south-east corner of Lanzarote, Costa Teguise is one of the smallest resorts on the island.

Popular with families and beach lovers, it's a pleasant resort which has managed to hit the right mix between low key and enough to keep the whole family occupied for a couple of weeks.

Great beaches (Playa de las Cucharas is said to be the best), fantastic shopping in La Cucharas, and a busy Sunday market all combine to provide endless entertainment for those staying in Teguise.

Not the liveliest resort on Lanzarote (head to Puerto del Carmen for the nightlife), Costa Teguise does offer a wide range of places to eat, some offering traditional Canary Islands food whilst others serve up food more akin to being at home.

Those who are keen on a more active stay can enjoy several watersports from the beaches including scuba diving, windsurfing or why not hire a jet ski.

Costa Teguise Golf

Just outside Costa Teguise is a really
good championship golf course (left)
which can provide an enjoyable time for
those seeking 18 holes.

We'd advise playing early morning or
during the evening as it can get very
warm during the middle of the day -
either way, make sure you wear
sunscreen.

Accommodation in Costa Teguise is generally of a high standard and ranges from the more luxurious five star hotel right through to the more modest bed and breakfast. Or why not give yourself total flexibility and opt for one of the many self-catering apartments of villa's that can be found in this resort.

The best beaches can be found at Los Molinos, Playa Bastian, Punta de Tope or Playa de las Cucharas. Whichever one you choose, you're sure to find crystal clear waters boasting a rich treasure of marine life, much appreciated by those who have an interest in diving or fishing.

As with many resorts in the Canary Islands, Costa Teguise has more than its fair share of electrical shops which at first glance throw up some fantastic bargains. A word of warning, whilst many people do find great bargains, others fall victim to scams. Make sure to check that the item you have paid for is in the box you take away and whenever possible test before you purchase.
